Job Description & Responsibilities

  • Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, including preparing and posting journal entries and reconciling accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multi-family and/or commercial properties.
  • Monitor and approve invoices in Yardi Voyager to ensure accurate coding.
  • Reconcile monthly bank statements for all properties.
  • Prepare journal entries for non-tenant cash receipts and cash transfers.
  • Reconcile loan balances and lender impound accounts monthly.
  • Reconcile cash weekly and verify all transactions are posted.
  • Process corporate receivables and payables.
  • Prepare and submit construction loan draws to lenders.
  • Communicate cash balances proactively to asset managers.
  • Coordinate with third-party accounting teams regarding financial review, adjustments, or changes.
  • Ensure all loan payments are set up for autopay.
  • Record property taxes semi-annually after online payments.
  • Verify and assist with preparation of annual 1099 forms.
  • Provide support to AR/AP as needed.
  • Assist the Controller with ad hoc projects.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Yardi, Google Suite, MS Office, and related software.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and/or a minimum of 5 years of accounting experience within a property management environment.
  • 3+ years of experience preparing financials in a residential or commercial property management accounting department.
  • Familiarity with accrual-basis accounting.
  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to communicate professionally with staff, property teams, and leadership.
